Evening general French courses are designed to help students progress rapidly in their mastery of the language through structured teaching that strengthens grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills, both oral and written. One of the major advantages of these courses is their adaptability to the schedules of international students who may have part-time jobs, daytime classes, or other commitments. Evening courses allow them to combine their French studies with their busy schedules. Evening general French courses are relatively intensive, meaning that students progress at a rapid pace. This allows international students to reach a certain level of proficiency in a limited time. These courses are also structured to meet the individual needs of students. Whether you want to focus more on speaking, writing, or professional skills, the CCFS teachers will meet your needs effectively. Evening courses often bring together international students from diverse backgrounds, offering an ideal opportunity to interact with people from different cultures. For international students considering living in France for higher education, employment, or other reasons, evening general French courses are excellent preparation. They promote faster integration into French society by improving language skills, communication abilities, and understanding of French culture.

Program Information:

Evening general French courses do not allow validation of a complete level of French.

Students wishing to deepen their written and oral skills can opt for general French courses in their semester-long formats. Depending on the level and involvement of the students, they allow validation of a complete level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in 12 weeks, at a preferential price.

Course Objectives

  • Progress in mastering French (grammar, conjugation, spelling, vocabulary, approach to literary texts, written and oral expression).
  • Reinforce and structure already acquired language knowledge.
  • Develop the level of general French through work on the 5 skills (listening, speaking, interacting, reading, writing).

Detailed Program

These courses are offered twice a year (starting in September or January) according to the reference calendar available in the downloadable brochure.

They last 12 weeks and are offered in a 72-hour format, with 6 hours of classes per week.

2 hours of French classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Each class session is devoted to different aspects (grammar, conjugation, spelling, vocabulary, approach to literary texts, written and oral expression).

Highlights

This program allows students to progress at an accelerated pace to enhance their skills for academic, professional, and/or personal purposes, with a communicative approach focused on learning language structures.

This training, which prioritizes the grammatical axis to develop the 5 skills, allows students to complete and structure their knowledge of the language, often acquired spontaneously by listening to people speak.

Assessment & Certification

  • Continuous assessment (regular evaluation of work and progress).
  • A language certificate from the Cours de civilisation française de la Sorbonne is awarded upon successful completion.

Target Audience

This training is aimed at an audience that is often already integrated into French life through their profession or private life and who wish to improve their French level at a flexible pace adapted to their activity.

Prerequisites

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold a diploma or certificate of completion of secondary studies, and comply with residency formalities (nationality, visa, residence permit, etc.).

Course Materials

Textbook, authentic documents (audio, visual, and written), various exercises. Exercise book and exercises created by the teacher.

Visa

This course does not meet the criteria for obtaining a student visa for students from outside the European Union. Students requiring a visa should opt, for example, for the general French and French civilization course S20 (240 hours).

  • Admission to the course is only final once payment is complete (at least one month before the start of the course) and after validation of the registration file.
  • A certificate of registration is issued after payment of a deposit and presentation of administrative documents (copy of identity document, translation of secondary school leaving certificate, identity photo).
